چکیده
Single-port video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) has recently been proposed as an innovative minimally invasive alternative to the standard three-port VATS for lobectomies, most of which are performed using a conventional rigid thoracoscope. Here, we report a single-port VATS approach for right upper lobectomy and systematic lymph node dissection using a flexible endoscope. A 61-year-old male smoker presented with a pulmonary nodule. A single-port VATS procedure was performed through a 4-cm intercostal incision using a flexible laparo-thoraco videoscope. Right upper lobectomy and systematic lymph node dissection were performed. The total operating time was 106 in. The procedure was successful and the recovery uneventful. The patient's chest tube was removed on the third day, and he was discharged home on the fourth. The use of a flexible videoscope facilitated the single-port VATS procedure by avoiding interference between the videoscope and other operating instruments and providing ample space for the surgeon.

Video-assisted thoracoscopic sleeve lobectomy via a single intercostal space three-port approach
INTRODUCTION Video-assisted thoracoscopic sleeve lobectomy is safe and feasible for lung cancer. We describe a case of video-assisted thoracoscopic sleeve lobectomy via a novel single intercostal space (SIC) three-port approach. CONCLUSIONS This case demonstrates that a SIC three-port thoracoscopic approach is effective in sleeve lobectomy, and possesses potential advantages in perioperative ...
متن کاملTwo-port approach for fully thoracoscopic right upper lobe sleeve lobectomy
This report describes a case report of a minimally invasive technique for VATS right upper sleeve lobectomy with a two-port approach. To our knowledge it is the first report of this kind. A 50-year-old man with a pulmonary nodule occluding the orifice of the right upper lobe bronchus was referred to our department. Dissection, stapling the right upper lobe pulmonary vessels and anastomosis betw...
متن کاملFirst Case Report of Single Port Video-Assisted Thoracoscopic Middle Lobectomy for the Treatment of Pulmonary Aspergilloma in a Pediatric Patient
We present the case of an 11-year-old girl with pulmonary aspergilloma secondary to a hematologic disease successfully treated with a single port video-assisted thoracoscopic lobectomy. This surgical procedure was not previously reported. We consider this approach to be a safe and appropriate procedure for lung resection, in children or adults requiring minimal intervention and early recovery.
متن کاملSingle-port thoracoscopic lobectomy in a nonintubated patient: the least invasive procedure for major lung resection?
OBJECTIVES General anaesthesia with single-lung ventilation was always considered a condition for thoracoscopic major pulmonary resections. However, nonintubated thoracoscopic lobectomy has been reported recently by using conventional video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS), epidural anaesthesia and vagus blockade. Here, we present a technique that reduces the surgical access trauma even mo...
متن کاملEfficacy of Single-Port Video-Assisted Thoracoscopic Surgery Lobectomy Compared with Triple-Port VATS by Propensity Score Matching
Background In recent years, single-port video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) for lobectomy in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients has become increasingly common. The objective of this study was to compare the feasibility and safety of single-port and triple-port VATS lobectomy. Methods A total of 73 patients with NSCLC who underwent VATS lobectomy from December 2011 to August 2...
